Workshop Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all workshops booked with The Craft House by Tobin. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
1. Booking and Payment
Places at our workshops must be booked in advance through our website unless otherwise stated.
Your place is confirmed once payment has been successfully received. A booking is for the person or people named on the booking and for the specific workshop, date and time selected.
Please check your booking details carefully before completing payment.
2. Age Requirement
All workshops are strictly 18+ only.
Due to the materials, equipment and techniques used during our workshops, including resin and heated tools, we are unable to accept anyone under the age of 18.
A valid form of identification may be requested to confirm age.
3. Arriving for Your Workshop
Please arrive at the time stated in your booking or joining instructions.
If you arrive late, we may not be able to extend the workshop or repeat instructions that have already been given. Late arrival may also mean that you are unable to complete part of the activity.
If you are going to be late, please contact us as soon as possible.
4. Workshop Activities and Finished Items
Our workshops are practical, hands-on craft sessions. Because items are handmade, the finished piece may differ slightly from examples shown in photographs or promotional material.
Colours, decorative materials and other supplies may vary according to availability.
We reserve the right to make minor changes to materials or techniques where necessary, provided the overall nature of the workshop remains substantially the same.
Resin and other craft materials may require curing or drying time. Where an item cannot be taken home immediately, we will explain the arrangements for collection or delivery where applicable.
5. Safety
Some workshops involve resin, pigments, glitters, adhesives, heat, tools or other craft materials.
You must follow all safety instructions given by the workshop leader and use equipment and materials only as instructed.
You must tell us before the workshop if you have any relevant allergy, sensitivity, mobility issue or other requirement that could affect your participation.
We may ask a participant to stop using a particular material or piece of equipment if we reasonably believe that they, another participant or the workshop environment may be placed at risk.
6. Clothing and Personal Belongings
Some craft activities can be messy. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. You will be provided with an apron and nitrile gloves. Please let us know if you have any allergies to these gloves.
Although we take reasonable care, The Craft House by Tobin cannot accept responsibility for damage to clothing or personal belongings brought to a workshop where that damage results from the normal nature of the craft activity.
Please avoid bringing valuable or unnecessary belongings to the workshop.
7. Cancellations by You
If you need to cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.
More than 7 days before the workshop:
You may request a transfer to another available workshop date or a refund.
Between 48 hours and 7 days before the workshop:
Where possible, we will offer a transfer to another available workshop date. Refunds may be available at our discretion, depending on whether your place can be rebooked.
Less than 48 hours before the workshop:
We will normally be unable to offer a refund or transfer because the place may no longer be possible to fill. However, if we are able to resell your place, we will do our best to offer a suitable alternative or refund.
If you are unable to attend, you may arrange for another person to attend in your place, provided they meet the age and other requirements for the workshop and you notify us in advance.
These cancellation arrangements do not affect any statutory rights you may have.
8. If You Do Not Attend
If you do not attend your booked workshop without contacting us, the booking will normally be treated as a missed appointment and no refund will be due.
If exceptional circumstances prevent you from attending, please contact us and we will consider the circumstances reasonably.
9. Changing Your Booking
Requests to change your workshop date will be considered subject to availability.
We cannot guarantee that another date will be available, particularly for seasonal or limited workshops.
Any difference in price between workshops will need to be paid where applicable.
10. Cancellation or Changes by Us
We reserve the right to cancel or change a workshop where this is reasonably necessary, including because of illness, insufficient bookings, venue problems, supply issues, safety concerns or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If we cancel a workshop, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and offer you either:
a transfer to another suitable workshop date; or
a refund for the cancelled booking.
We will not normally be responsible for additional costs you have incurred in connection with attending a workshop, such as travel or accommodation, unless required by law.
11. Conduct
We want our workshops to be safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Participants must behave respectfully towards other attendees, the workshop leader, the venue and its equipment.
We reserve the right to ask a participant to leave where their behaviour is threatening, abusive, disruptive or creates a safety risk. Where a participant is removed because of their own unacceptable behaviour, a refund will not normally be provided.
12. Photography
We may occasionally take photographs or videos during workshops for use on our website, social media or other promotional material.
We will ask for permission before using identifiable images of participants for promotional purposes.
If you do not wish to be photographed, please let us know at the beginning of the workshop.
13. Accessibility and Additional Requirements
We want our workshops to be accessible wherever reasonably possible.
If you have an accessibility requirement or need an adjustment to enable you to participate, please contact us before booking or as soon as possible afterwards. We will discuss what reasonable arrangements can be made for the particular workshop and venue.
14. Responsibility and Liability
We take reasonable care to provide workshops in a safe and professional manner.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be restricted.
Participants remain responsible for following safety instructions and for taking reasonable care of themselves and others during the workshop.
15. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Where there is a conflict between these terms and a legal right that applies to you, your legal rights will prevail.
16. Questions or Problems
If you have a question about a booking, need to make a change or have a problem with a workshop, please contact The Craft House by Tobin as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to resolve the matter.
17. Acceptance of These Terms
By completing a workshop booking, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read these Workshop Terms & Conditions and agree to them.
You should retain a copy of these terms for your records.
